Zohari Yohi, a social activist and head of an international non-profit group in Malaysia, has emphasized that Islamic unity can lead to breaking siege of Gaza, where Israeli regime presses ahead with a genocidal war over the two years.
He stressed need for Muslim solidarity and widespread support for the people of Gaza
Yohi made remarks while attending the 39th International Conference on Islamic Unity in the Iranian capital Tehran.
In an interview with a reporter from media section of the international affairs department of the institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works, he emphasized that "today, more than ever, Muslim Ummah needs unity.”
“The images of hungry and helpless children in Gaza who are being shot in the food line hurt every human heart. These innocent children are standing on the front lines defending the identity of the Islamic nation."
Referring to the role of Western countries in sending humanitarian aid to Gaza, the Malaysian activist added:
"As a Muslim, I am ashamed that most humanitarian aid comes from the West. It is necessary for Muslims to put aside their differences and strengthen their bond to support the Palestinian people morally and physically.”
Strongly criticizing the indifference of some Arab countries, Yuhi said: The power of the Islamic Ummah is our most important asset and we must think beyond fleeting political and material interests.
He said that the United Nations an other international institution were lacking real influence and failed to stop Israeli aggression against Gaza
“it is the awareness and actions of the people of the world that have worried Israel. It should go directly to Gaza, break the siege and open the way for sending humanitarian aid.
Zuhari Yuhi praised Iran's role in supporting the Palestinian people in all circumstances
"Iran's national unity and missile power enabled this country to overcome sanctions and truly defend itself in the 12-day war."
